Hi, I'm Fabrizio Codello, a backend engineer from Treviso, Italy 🇮🇹🤌🏻.
I like building robust systems, exploring AI integrations, and occasionally getting my hands dirty with experimental projects that connect software to the physical world.
Technical Proficiencies
I mainly work on backend engineering, with a strong focus on Node.js and its ecosystem, including Express.js and Next.js.
I also have experience with PHP frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel, and I’m comfortable working across the stack when needed.
On the data side, I’ve worked with MySQL, Redis, and search platforms like Algolia and SiteSearch360, building reliable, data-driven applications with strong search and retrieval capabilities.
I care a lot about documentation, error handling, and the small implementation details that make systems easier to maintain over time.
Lately, I’ve also been exploring AI integrations, multimodal workflows, and projects that bridge software, hardware, and interaction design.
Current Projects
Some of the things I’m currently exploring:
- Integrating AI APIs into real applications and prototypes
- Developing multimodal and voice-driven experiences
- Experimenting with realtime systems and interaction flows
- Exploring the intersection of IoT, Raspberry Pi, and web technologies
- Building unusual side projects, like turning a vintage Siemens S62 phone into an AI phone
Interests
Beyond day-to-day engineering, I’m especially interested in:
- Advancements in AI and machine learning
- Realtime systems and interactive applications
- IoT and physical computing experiments
- The space where software meets tangible objects and human interaction
- Hard science fiction and its implications for future technology
Featured Writing
I recently documented one of my favorite side projects: turning a flea-market Siemens S62 “Bigrigio” into an AI phone using Raspberry Pi, Retell, and SIP.
